Boothies Travel Together for Friendsgiving

This year, Booth started the Fall Quarter on a Monday and in return granted students a full week off for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Well-deserved time to take a break from recruiting and classwork! While many Boothies chose to stay in Chicago or travel to visit family, some students organized group trips to locations around the world! Here’s a look at some of the cool places Boothies are traveling to this week.

Hear Second Years Reflect On Their LEAD Experience

The Leadership Effectiveness and Development (LEAD) program is an experiential learning course that all Booth students take when they arrive on campus. The program starts alongside Orientation and extends into the first quarter. The lessons from LEAD are meant to guide students through their continued development at Booth and beyond. Entrepreneurship at Booth: Finding Your Beach

There is no better time than now to be an entrepreneur at Booth. Students can gain access to industry professionals through the Polsky Center, learn from seasoned veterans in the classroom, and partner with classmates to compete in the New Venture Challenge—one of the top-ranked accelerator programs in the country. Inspired by a trip with 350 of our closest Boothie friends, Moises Numa and Andreina Chacin, members of the Class of 2019, decided to focus their entrepreneurial spirit on an industry all Boothies become very familiar with… travel.

Give the Hard Project to the Boothies

This summer, I gained my first exposure to strategy consulting and had the chance to see the educational grounding from Y1 at Booth come to life. Which was especially useful when tackling what my bosses described as “the most challenging project of the summer.”

I am interning in New York City with IBM’s Digital Strategy team. Together with the IBM iX team, we offer digital and strategic solutions and insights to our clients’ most complicated questions. I was excited to join the team for the summer to get my feet wet in strategy consulting and to collaborate with the design experts on the iX team.

Also, as of last year, I was the only remaining member of my direct family to have not lived in NYC, something I can finally check off the bucket list.
