Hi there! The Booth Experience new team here — we are so excited to share with you as many student stories and Booth experiences as we can over the next year!

We’ll do our best to provide readers with a comprehensive, candid, and in-depth glimpse of what it’s like to be an MBA student at Chicago Booth. From our favorite classes and recruiting advice to internship insights and where we live in Chicago, we’ll give you an insider’s look at the entire Booth experience from start to finish.

The Joint Masters Experience: MBA + Computer Science

I have always been fascinated by computers. You press a button, and magical things can happen. For example, you can submit an application to business school 5,000 miles away (of course, then you realize there was a typo on your resume… unfortunately, human error is still a factor and time traveling back to fix it is still something computers can’t do). People who could actually write code were like gods to me. At the same time, I never had enough focus to become one myself—instead, I embarked on a business path, getting degrees in economics and financial management, and later working in consulting. And, although I had tried to teach myself to code, without direction and a real goal to work towards, I had never gone beyond the basics. But the passion has never gone away.

2018 Best and Brightest MBAs

This week, Poets & Quants released their annual list of Best and Brightest MBAs — and a couple of our fellow Booth classmates were featured! Who are they? Jonathan Osser is a former child actor looking to pivot into biz dev in the entertainment biz, and Rodrigo Studart is in the midst of launching his own low-calorie ice cream company in Brazil called MUU.

Take a closer look at what these two Boothies are up to and find out their biggest achievements during b-school, which classmates they most admire,  and what their advice is for anyone applying to Booth.
