My MBgAy Experience

“I’m gay.”

They were the two most difficult words I’ve ever said to my parents. I was barely able to say them out loud as I was driving my family to lunch hours before I headed back to NYC. It was June 2011, and I had returned home that weekend to suburban Maryland with the sole purpose of coming out to my parents. However, I couldn’t bring myself to do it until just before I had to leave. When I was finally able to say those two words, I felt a huge weight off my chest. This is just an example of how Chicago not only allows us to access culture, restaurants, and clubs but also provides unparalleled opportunities for students to become better business leaders.

I’m an Ally

Picture yourself in class at Booth. You may be halfway between taking notes and refreshing your Instagram feed. At some point, you look across the room. One of your classmates has a purple sticker on her name tent with a rainbow flag on the bottom. You read on the sticker the word “Ally.” You may not realize it, but you’ve just taken the first step toward becoming an OUTreach ally! Continue reading I’m an Ally
