Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy is a reminder that we all have the ability to create and inspire positive change in our communities. While MLK Day is nationally observed on the third Monday of January, the Saturday prior, UChicago conducts a Day of Service in honor of MLK. As a first year MBA student, it’s easy to get swept away by singling in on consulting or investment banking recruiting. However, for me, as the recruiting process kicked into high gear at the end of October, the Net Impact 2017 Conference was a refreshing opportunity for me to join like-minded individuals dedicated to arriving at careers focused in social impact.

Together with two more co-founders, Emma Rotenberg and Chris Boulos, we have launched the Chicago Road Ventures initiative that will give MBAs a chance to use the break between first and second year to experience said world.
