My background is a bit different than some of my peers, so I was glad that the flexibility of Booth’s curriculum allowed me start my MBA exactly where I needed to be. I went to Princeton for undergrad where I majored in Politics and found my way to Breakthrough Fuel in Green Bay, WI, after graduating, where I became VP of Advisory Services. My post-MBA goal is to work in consulting and this summer I’m interning at Bain & Co.out in Boston.
Originally from the East Coast (Troy, NY, to be exact), I’m looking forward to being closer to family this summer and exploring a new city—as well as a new career. Booth has given me the freedom of choice to explore so much, including a Random Walk trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, while becoming a member of the Management Consulting Group, Ski & Snowboard Club, and Veg Club. I’ve also taken advantage of the opportunity to take courses across disciplines at the University of Chicago. My favorite class so far has been the Energy Policy Practicum, a six-person seminar co-taught by a Booth economist and a UChicago physicist.
I chose Booth because I felt like I could connect with the Booth community and saw them as a supportive group of people whom I could learn from, which has certainly been the case. And I was looking for a program that would allow me to design my own course of study, which has been extremely beneficial given my non-traditional background.
I can’t wait to share more stories with you. And, to build up the intrigue—I once bowled at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, NV. Bet you didn’t even know there was a National Bowling Stadium did you?
More to come!
