What is your favorite thing to do in Chicago? I am the father of a two-year-old and one on the way so there are many interesting places to go and for kids to have fun, such as museums and playgrounds.
What has been your favorite class so far? Commercializing Innovation and Developing New Product Lab together… studying these two classes together gives me perspectives from “both sides of the table.” While the lab class provides new perspectives to approach my entrepreneurial ideas, the Commercializing Innovation class helps me understand how investors will examine the business.
Why did you choose Booth for your MBA? Knowing what I want to do after business school, I needed to be able to design my own adventure and Booth’s flexible curriculum was unique. I wanted to have a solid and broad business foundation while diving deep in areas such as leadership, marketing, and entrepreneurship. A personal reason also played a part in my decision… I wanted to be in the annual basketball game “Running with the Bulls” on the court where Michael Jordon played.
What has been your most memorable moment at Booth? During the first day of orientation, Dean Kole asked everyone who did not go on a Random Walk to stand up and reassured us that we will be as successful as the rest of the student body.
Advice to anyone considering business school: Ruthless prioritization is an important skill to enjoy the MBA life, especially in an environment like Booth where new opportunities are unlimited.
