Desired Future Industry/Function: Marketing
Who are you?: I came from marketing consulting and am looking to transition into marketing in an industry. I also left NYC (city I love) for Chicago – so exploring what makes Chicago special has been fun.
What has been your favorite class so far?: Game Theory taught by Emir Kamenica – Kamenica is a really engaging professor and awesome teacher. It’s the most fun class I’ve ever taken because it’s interactive – we have clickers that we use to actually play the games in real time, and get to see our results projected and analyzed in class. I’m always on my toes because I don’t want to be that person Kamenica calls out for playing the dumbest strategy!
What is your favorite thing to do in Chicago?: I love going up to Devon St., which is an area that has a lot of Bengali/Pakistani restaurants and shops. Cheap and delicious desi food is abundant on Devon St.- the only problem is actually getting up there (it’s about a 20 minute drive from the Loop, so kind of a hike- but totally worth it!)
What is the most recent hobby you picked up?: Palm reading
What’s one thing you wish you had known when applying to MBA programs?: It’s easy to form pre-conceived ideas about schools you’re applying to, but the best way to get to know a school is to talk to actual students / alumni (and ask them hard questions about things you actually want to know about).
