As my time at Booth draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey these past two years have been. While the entire MBA experience has been transformative, it’s my second year that truly stands out—a time when I fully embraced the relationships I’ve built and shared unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences with remarkable individuals.
My second year began with an unforgettable adventure. After completing our summer internships, several Booth friends and I reunited in Bali for what would become one of the best trips of my life. We immersed ourselves in the rich Indonesian culture, marveling at breathtaking landscapes. From terraced rice fields, the sacred monkey forest in Ubud, and so many amazing cultural landmarks—I’m thankful to have spent this trip with friends I made at Booth.
Back in Chicago, I’ve made it my mission to fully embrace the city’s renowned food and arts scene. As co-chair of the Epicurean Club and Stage & Screen, I’ve had the privilege of organizing events that allow fellow Boothies to explore Chicago’s vibrant cultural offerings. These leadership roles have been incredibly rewarding, as I’ve watched classmates discover hidden gems throughout the city and forge connections over shared experiences.

The Stage & Screen events have taken us to movies, ballet, comedy, and Broadway shows. One of my most memorable academic experiences came through Professor Mary Ittelson’s Arts Leadership course. Rather than confining our learning to the classroom, the course brought in extraordinary guest speakers who offered real-world insights into non-profit arts management and cultural leadership. The highlight was undoubtedly our visit with the GM and President of the Joffrey Ballet, who invited our club onstage at the historic Lyric Opera House to celebrate their latest production, “Golden Hour.”
For me, the highlight of Epicurean Club was a Booth takeover at Alinea—one of Chicago’s most celebrated 3-Michelin Star restaurants. 50 Booth students experienced Chef Grant Achatz’s innovative culinary artistry together, savoring dishes that challenged our perceptions and delighted our senses. From edible balloons to desserts prepared tableside on sheets of liquid nitrogen, the evening was a masterclass in creativity and precision.

As graduation approaches, I’ve come to realize that while the courses, career opportunities, and city experiences have been extraordinary, it’s the people that make Booth truly special. I’ve formed friendships with individuals who are not only brilliant and ambitious but also deeply passionate about their diverse interests. These relationships have enriched my MBA experience beyond measure—these are the people that have shaped my Booth journey and created memories I’ll carry for a lifetime.
