Many Booth students chose to relax and travel around the world over Thanksgiving and Winter Break.
As Winter Quarter is in full swing, many Boothies have caught up on what they did over break. Over Thanksgiving, Boothies had the opportunity to travel on student organized treks, go home to visit their families, and/or spend time with friends at fun events like Friendsgiving. In the weeks between Thanksgiving and finals, there were holiday events put on by student organizations and festive activities around Chicago to explore. Some of the popular, must-do activities included Christkindlmarket and ice skating at the outdoor rinks just a couple blocks away from where many students live in the Loop. During Winter Break, students planned more treks like the annual ski trip organized by Ski Club and Kilimanjaro organized by BOLD. There were a number of Friendsgiving celebrations over Thanksgiving. In one celebration, ten international students across over 8 countries celebrated together as they were away from their families. “We celebrated it at MPP, we had a warm and intimate dinner with different kinds of foods across countries. We were thankful to survive in Chicago and Booth for the past 2 months and to meet kind-hearted people at Booth to spend the exciting time at MBA with!” – Arindha Purwandari 
25 Boothies hiked and explored Sedona, Arizona during the annual outdoors trek organized by BOLD. Students have a great time exploring the outdoors together before going home to be with their families over Thanksgiving. 
The Mexico Trek is another popular trip organized by students from Mexico. Students explored Teotihuacan, Oaxaca and went on an off-shoot trip to Chichen Itza. 
Luiz Renato Valadão Madoreira and his family attended the World Cup in Qatar over Thanksgiving holidays. 
Vedanshi Murarka, Resha Chandak, Arofat Karimova, Meenakshi Shandilya, and Krishna Gupta had a great time touring holiday lights and ice skating at the outdoor ice skating rink in Millennium Park. 
Over winter break, students traveled to Tanzania to climb Kilimanjaro. Boothies bonded as they scrambled up rocky cliffs and traversed across 4 habitat regions. These students returned with once-in-a-lifetime memories, enough knowledge of Swahili to say “thank you” and “you’re welcome”, and new friends. 
Over winter break, students explored different safaris across Tanzania and South Africa.
